"When I look up at the stars, I see a world we know virtually nothing about. I see opportunity not only for myself to grow, but I see opportunity for the world to grow."
And with those inspirational words we introduce aerospace specialist Abigail McNally. Early in life, Abby knew she wanted to be an engineer, and through a Chickasaw-provided internship at the National Transportation Safety Board, she was on her way. After graduating from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, she took a job offer from Northrop Grumman, where her career has taken flight. And where her proud Chickasaw heritage is on full display.
"When I was going through space camp, I remember this picture of John Herrington, the first Native American in space. That's who I wanted to be. And I think it's part of my story to be able to not only educate people about the Chickasaw culture, but to inspire younger Abbys to reach their dreams."
