Ariella Gaughan is a tribal conservation advocate based in California working alongside spiritual and tribal leaders to protect sacred lands, burial sites and culturally relevant artifacts. She credits the discovery of her Chickasaw lineage for igniting her passion for nature conservation and a serious car accident in 2023 for the determination to push herself further than she ever thought she could.
"I feel like I have a lot to live up to. There's a lot that Chickasaw leadership and my family have sacrificed to allow us to be here today ... I want my mark to be inspiring people to not be afraid of who they are ... to chase their passions and whatever they're going to choose to do in life, just give it their all."
A true student of the land and her tribal elders, Ariella is always seeking more knowledge to better care for the beautiful lands that inspire her so that they may be enjoyed for generations to come.
