Chickasaw Princesses

Meet Our People – The Enduring Spirit of the Chickasaw Nation

Chickasaw princesses, past and present, are a proud part of Chickasaw heritage. Since 1963, these special young ladies have represented the Chickasaw Nation as ambassadors for their tribe and their culture. Every year, Chickasaw girls and young women from across the state compete to be recognized as Chickasaw royalty at the Chickasaw Nation's Annual Meeting & Festival. Over the course of the following year, the crowned princesses serve as cultural envoys for the Chickasaw Nation, making appearances at events around the country. The princesses' court is a full procession of dynamic and talented young ladies who carry on the legacy of cousins, sisters, aunts and family friends who held the title before them. The honor of serving as Chickasaw princess is a treasured tradition as they become role models for younger girls and standard bearers for the Chickasaw culture.
