In 2005, a six-foot tall bronze sculpture by William Beckwith was unveiled in front of the Tupelo City Hall. Kirk Perry represented the Chickasaws at this event in the historic homeland. He was quoted as saying, "The Chickasaws have been removed here for roughly 170 years, and it is significant now to remember our father of this country."
