A short-lived peace between the French and Chickasaws

French-Canadian leader Pierre Le Moyne d'lberville sent trusted associate Henri de Tonti to the Chickasaw leaders to persuade them to meet d'lberville and the French-aligned Choctaws in Mobile. He saw that the Chickasaws could both obstruct English trade inland and allow France to consolidate its North American colonies. However, the peace struck in Mobile was short-lived.
