Fashion Design From a Small Town to the World Stage

Maya Stewart

Descended from a long line of artists, Maya Stewart brings Native American beauty to a new audience. A recent graduate of the London College of Fashion, Stewart has displayed work around the world, including at New York's 2010 Fashion Week. Her mother, a Muscogee (Creek), is also an artist; under her mother’s influence, Stewart started designing early in life. And her father, a Chickasaw, always encouraged Stewart to pursue her dreams – and she did just that, taking her culture and history with her.
