June 15, 2011 – OU Student Program Himitta' Kilimpi'

Chickasaw Nation News

The OU Chickasaw Nation Learning Community created a summer program for students aged 12 to 18 and their families. The eight-week program, named Himitta' Kilimpi' or "strong youth," is specifically geared toward Chickasaw children, especially those who live outside the Chickasaw Nation borders. The students learn Chickasaw crafts like beading and get the opportunity to sing and dance with fellow Chickasaw, just as their ancestors did long ago.
