Tanumpo Hosa Apisa means "gun shoot straight" and it's the name of the marksmanship camp for Chickasaw kids, ages 10 to 18. The summer camp hosts up to 50 children and teaches them gun safety and firing skills and is the basis for continuing study in Olympic-style rifle and pistol shooting. The classes, all in Ada, are taught by Lighthorse Police officers and certified shooting instructors. For more information, visit Chickasaw.net.
