A few tribes in the Oklahoma Territory use the term "lighthorsemen" for their law enforcement divisions, and the Chickasaw Nation uses a variation of that name for its police department. The Lighthorse Police Department had an all-call for artists to design new logos for uniforms and gear when the division was created. The winning design, by a Chickasaw artist living in California, features five horse heads in the shape of a star.
