Chickasaw aviator teaches aspiring pilots how to chase their own dreams

Growing up, Austin Wallace didn't imagine he'd become a pilot. But today, he's not just a pilot: he's also a flight instructor and founder of Adventure Air, a premier flight school serving the Oklahoma City metro. "I want to share my passion of aviation, and I want to keep aviation healthy through proper training with attention to detail," says Austin.

Inspired by his father, retired Marine Col. Clarence "Lucky" Wallace, Austin decided to pursue aviation after receiving a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Central Florida. In 2020 he became a certified flight instructor, and since then he has dedicated his career to training aspiring pilots.

Austin's Chickasaw heritage brings him inspiration, embodying the Chickasaw traits of an adventurous and unconquerable spirit. "Just because we don't have wings, that doesn't mean we can't fly," Austin says.
