One in four women and one in seven men will experience domestic violence in their lifetimes, which is why the Chickasaw Nation dedicates resources to helping victims and their dependents find safety and new beginnings. Violence Prevention Services are available for any individual experiencing domestic or sexual violence, stalking or teen dating violence. These services include an emergency shelter, relocation assistance, medical aid, group or individual counseling, safety planning, protective orders and legal case management. In addition to immediate safety, the advocates in the program are committed to the long-term happiness of victims, helping them to rebuild their support systems and feel empowered in their daily lives. Part of this healing process is accomplished through helping Chickasaw victims to reconnect with their tribal heritage. For after-hours assistance, call the toll-free hotline at 1-855-405-7645, and for information on the program visit www.Chickasaw.net.
