Mike Larsen's "The Arrival": An Empowering Message

Widely known for his paintings featuring Chickasaw elders, artist Mike Larsen is also a renown sculptor. One of his largest creations, titled "The Arrival," weighs in at three tons and is situated at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur, Oklahoma. "The Arrival" dramatically depicts several generations of a Chickasaw family as they're migrating from their ancestral homelands in Mississippi to Indian Territory.
