Meet 18-year-old Chickasaw student Chad Whittington, who was recently awarded the prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship. Chad competed with top high school seniors from across the country, and was one of 1,000 students chosen. The scholarship will cover all costs associated with his college education at the University of Oklahoma, where he plans to study medicine. Chad says the scholarship is an award for all his hard work — he was on the student council, the academic team and the state championship-winning tennis team — but that it's also a tribute to those who have impacted his life.
