The Southeastern Art Show and Market was held in Tishomingo, Oklahoma, near the Chickasaw Historic Capitol. It brought Native American artists together to share and celebrate the unique art movement that has been fueled by many individuals. Governor Bill Anoatubby presented the Arts & Culture Awards, which were held at the Chickasaw Cultural Center. Among several honorees were Mrs. Ellen Brooker, a longtime Chickasaw educator named the 2012 Dynamic Woman of the Year, and Native Chickasaw speaker Emma McLeod, presented with the prestigious 2012 Silver Feather Award.
