Mildred "Millie" Blackman was named Dynamic Woman of the Year at 2010's Arts and Cultural Awards. Other honorees included Katherine Willman, who received the Silver Feather Award, and Joe Thomas, who was awarded Best Unpublished Article for his piece, "Chickasaws Before Removal." The Arts and Cultural Awards ceremony, which was held in the ballroom of Murray State College, honors those who have advanced the Chickasaw culture and heritage.
