In addition to sightseeing opportunities, this year's annual Chickasaw elder veterans' trip to Washington, D.C., also gave the veterans a chance to tell their stories. The interviews will be compiled into a book produced by the Chickasaw Nation. "The world would be a different place if it wasn't for the contributions they made, so it's very important that we preserve those stories," said project coordinator Tony Choate.
