Every year, the Chickasaw Nation honors a woman who represents its strong matriarchal heritage at the Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference. Honoree Millie Blackmon, CEO of the Wewoka Indian Health Center, was on hand to speak to the participants. Other guests included artists Margaret Roach Wheeler and Brenda Kingery, tribal legislator Nancy Elliott and National Indian Gaming Commission Vice-Chair Steffani Cochran.
