Chickasaw Nation News

Inkana is the Chickasaw word for friend, and it’s the perfect word to name a newly built bridge that promotes tourism. Recently, Governor Bill Anoatubby led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Inkana Bridge, a 195-foot-long pedestrian walkway suspended over Rock Creek that connects the Chickasaw Cultural Center with the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Superintendent Bill Wright says the bridge allows visitors to more easily explore different areas of the park. Governor Anoatubby goes on to speak about the importance of preservation and conservation to the Chickasaw Nation.
