She is a track star, honor student, campus leader and was just crowned Miss OSU; it's safe to say Chickasaw citizen Triana Browne-Hearell has made quite a name for herself. In an effort to help her mother pay for her college education, Browne-Hearell decided at the last minute to compete in Oklahoma State University's Miss OSU pageant, and it worked out in her favor. This 23-year-old human development and psychology student was inspired by her Chickasaw roots to use her platform to speak on issues such as cardiovascular problems and obesity, issues that are close to her heart; Browne-Hearell suffered from cardiovascular complications when she was young. She is set to compete in the Miss Oklahoma pageant later this month.
