A Chickasaw educator shares why he returned to Oklahoma to help make a difference in the lives of others. After 30 years working at the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Gary Sandefur is now the provost at Oklahoma State University. At OSU, the Chickasaw Nation has partnered on initiatives like the Center for Sovereign Nations, which serves as a resource for Native American students and promotes understanding of tribal sovereignty. Dr. Sandefur says it’s a privilege to be able to share in the learning experiences of young people at the Stillwater, OK, university.
