At Ada’s Child Development Center & Head Start Program, Claire Bohanan is known as Grandma Claire for her involvement in the Nation’s Foster Grandparent Program. Organizers of the program say that foster grandparents like Claire are great resources to the children, some of whom might not have grandparents who live nearby. In turn, the foster grandparents know that they’re participating in something that’s important and makes them feel needed.
