Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States – join the Chickasaw Nation in raising awareness of heart disease during American Heart Month this February. Early detection is critical, and Dr. George Chrysant, a cardiologist at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center, has a team leading the way in fighting the disease. A state-of-the-art CT scan is able to capture a unique image of the heart and surrounding blood vessels, allowing cardiologists to see calcium and plaque buildup and essentially stop a heart attack before it happens.
