Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran take a look at the family fun during the Three Sisters Celebration at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur. This free annual event, highlighting the traditional crops of squash, corn and beans while featuring games, food and crafts, takes place during spring break. For information about more events at this location, visit www.ChickasawCulturalCenter.com. The WinStar Convention Center in Thackerville will host this year's Dynamic Women of the Chickasaw Nation Conference on April 19 and 20. The keynote speaker will be Chickasaw elder and artist Brenda Kingery, the 2017 Dynamic Woman of the Year. Kingery is a founding member of Threads of Blessings, a nonprofit that provides backing to women worldwide using indigenous arts to support their families. This week also features an in-depth look behind the scenes of the feature film Te Ata, a Chickasaw Nation Productions film about the iconic Chickasaw storyteller. And don't forget that the companion documentary, Bearer of the Morning, is currently available on DVD and Blu-ray! Visit www.ChickasawFilms.com to find out more.
