Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran take us to a special Elders Appreciation Day at the Chickasaw Council House Museum in Tishomingo. Chickasaw Nation senior citizens were able to tour the museum and also participated in arts and crafts activities – elders in attendance said they enjoyed the fellowship of their peers and learning about their cultural history. The Chickasaw Council House will also be the first stop for a fun annual event called Christmas at the Museums, to take place on December 13. Participants will begin with a progressive dinner and hors d'oeuvres at the Council House, will continue on to an Indian taco dinner at the Chickasaw National Capitol and will end with dessert at the Chickasaw White House. In celebration of Veterans Day, the Chickasaw Cultural Center held a special weekend devoted to military veterans. Veterans received free admission, and a unique military collection was on display at the Holisso Center. Finally, we end with exciting news from a Chickasaw teenager and athlete – Newcastle High School senior Kobi Crossley, fresh off her team's state championship win, has signed for a full scholarship to play softball at the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma.
