Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad and Quin share the stories of Bennett and Benjamin Freeny, twins who served together as World War II combat medics with the 45th Infantry Division. Cary Freeny O'Hara, Bennett's daughter, highlights her father's experience at the liberation of Dachau concentration camp and the sketches of Sergeant Brummett Echohawk that feature her uncle in his final moments. "They're not here to tell us their stories," Cary says. "I think it's important for the Chickasaw Nation to know how many of its warriors served proudly and honorably."

Next in the episode, Governor Anoatubby and other Chickasaw leaders cut the ribbon on the newly renovated facility for the preschool and school-age programs. The facility includes updated classrooms, spaces dedicated to speech therapy, occupational therapy and more, plus a kitchen and cafeteria that also serve as a safe room. The programs promote school readiness for its students.
