In this episode of CNTV News, world-renowned Chickasaw composer Jerod Tate celebrates National Sons Day with his son, Heloha. "I take [Heloha] with me everywhere that I go," says Jerod. "He is very rooted in being a Chickasaw person, but he is also a world citizen." The father-son duo has traveled to New York City, Paris and more, performing together and sharing the beauty of classical music. Heloha is not only immersed in his father's artistic endeavors, but also his own. He is a French horn player and ballet dancer, performing with the Oklahoma City Ballet in a variety of shows. "To me it's become very apparent that my son eclipses me with his talent and his intelligence and his perception, and I love that," Jerod says. Jerod and Heloha connect with each other and the world through their shared love of music, art and Chickasaw tradition.
