From single parents to foster families and more, Chickasaw Nation WIC issues benefits to all kinds of recipients that encourage healthy eating and nutrition education at no charge. "We're really trying to get the word out that a WIC family just doesn't have one look," says operations manager Macheala Taylor. Throughout the Chickasaw Nation, outreach coordinators like Mechel Dickerson are making a difference in the lives of both First American and non-First American families by bringing the full-service van to various WIC-approved grocery stores. "I love that I get to serve families and love on people where they are," Mechel says.
