The Chickasaw Nation developed the neighborhood for tribal citizens and built 59 homes. The tribe hosted a gathering to celebrate with families, including many first-time homeowners.
The Chickasaw Nation Recreation Area in Sulphur, Oklahoma, was voted the best place for camping and RV getaways by Reader's Choice poll of USA's Today's Ten Best, placing first behind Yellowstone National Park and the Grand Canyon National Park.
