Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran begin with a crucial service for new drivers. Several Oklahoma school districts no longer offer driver's education, making it tough for families to find and afford a program. The Chickasaw Nation Driver Education Training Program fills that need and is available to citizens age 15 and over at no charge. To learn more or sign up, call (580) 272-1378.

Next, Quin continues her conversation with Tobi Young, the recipient of the 2022 Chickasaw Nation Dynamic Woman of the Year award. She gives insight on mentorship, motherhood and the importance of education.

During the pandemic, the Chickasaw Nation found new ways to connect citizens to activities and resources, which has allowed more citizens to get involved from anywhere. One such resource is the virtual Chickasaw Cultural Enrichment Family Camp, which begins this month and runs through August. To learn more, call the Chickasaw Language Revitalization Program at (580) 272-5318.

The Chickasaw Martial Arts Virtual Program is another remote activity that families enjoy. Martial Arts Sensei Matt Clark tells CNTV News how they adapted the program for the virtual space and how citizens can benefit from martial arts. To learn more, call (580) 272-5504 or email MartialArts@chickasaw.net.

Don't forget, July 29 is the next deadline to register to vote in the upcoming run-off primary and special elections. Learn more about the registration and voting process, as well as other election information at www.VoteYourValuesOK.com, a non-partisan voter and election resource.
