Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran explore the latest in what’s going on throughout the Chickasaw Nation. One of the Chickasaw Nation's priorities is to help people become healthier, and one of the ways it achieves this is through the Get Fresh program. This program and website give opportunities for the community to learn healthy recipes, cooking techniques and more. And to further these community outreach efforts, the team behind Get Fresh is updating the Get Fresh Cooking website with all-new recipe photography. "We want the recipe picture to look as appetizing as possible for people looking for those recipes on the internet," said Melissa Burden, Nutrition Coordinator for Get Fresh. To learn more and start cooking, visit getfreshcooking.com. Next up, if you want more inspiration for cooking, check out the newest publication from Chickasaw Press. Ilittibaaimpa’: Let’s Eat Together is a cookbook compilation of Chickasaw recipes that can gather your family around the table. You can pick up the book wherever Chickasaw Press books are sold. Brad and Quin then discuss Bank2's rebranding in Oklahoma City. Bank2's name was officially changed to the Chickasaw Community Bank at a celebrated ribbon cutting with state and local officials in attendance. This nationally recognized banking institution is ready to help anyone with their banking or financing needs in the state of Oklahoma. "It ties into who we are as a nation, providing services to people," Governor Bill Anoatubby said. "So, it's natural that we're renaming it to the Chickasaw Community Bank." And finally, to close out the episode, Quin and Brad highlight the publication of a new Chickasaw picture and coloring book designed for families teaching their children the Chickasaw language.
