With the fall and winter months comes flu season. Doctors are encouraging everyone to get their flu shot and to continue mitigation efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19. First, Quin speaks to Dr. Charles Grim, Chickasaw Nation Secretary of Health, about the rising cases of COVID-19 in Chickasaw Country as well as positivity rates and bed capacity. Dr. Grim also speaks about his concerns as flu season and the global pandemic coincide and reminds viewers to wear masks, socially distance, wash hands and get the flu shot.

Construction crews are building a new structure on the campus of the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center. The alternate site care facility will serve as an extension of the medical center, offering an additional 48 patient beds. The federal Farmers to Families program has been helping farmers, food distributors and families during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chickasaw Nation has donated more than 254,000 pounds of food to local communities. The next distribution date is November 12 in Tishomingo.
