In this special episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran recap the 60th Chickasaw Annual Meeting and Festival. This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the weeklong festivities were held virtually from September 26 to October 3, 2020. During the events, the tribe's culture and traditions were showcased with storytelling, language lessons, tours of Chickasaw landmarks and a variety of online presentations. The festival week ended with Governor Bill Anoatubby's State of the Nation address. Next, Glenda Galvan was awarded the prestigious Silver Feather Award during Cultural Evening and Margaret Roach Wheeler was named the 2020 Dynamic Chickasaw Woman of the Year. Quin also speaks with 2019 Chickasaw Princess Markita McCarty about serving another year as an ambassador for the Chickasaw Nation.
