Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran are at the Aaholiitobli' Honor Garden at the Chickasaw Cultural Center. In this serene and meditative space, plaques celebrate the memory of outstanding Chickasaw citizens. Coming soon will be the annual inductions into the Chickasaw Hall of Fame, the highest honor bestowed on citizens by the tribe, which will take place April 23 at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Norman. And while beautiful locations like the Honor Garden bring peace to visitors, one program offered by the Chickasaw Nation takes an active and long-term approach to the mental health of employees. The Strong Foundation serves as a support network, with a team of licensed therapists who offer services as often as needed. Stress, depression and anxiety are just some of the problems that Chickasaw Nation employees can get help with in order to be happier in their home and workplace. To learn more about mental health assistance, call (580) 272-5170. One of the Chickasaw icons celebrated in the Honor Garden is Pearl Carter Scott, the famous aviator. The episode closes with a preview of Never Give Up! The Life of Pearl Carter Scott, now available in a special collector's edition from Chickasaw Press.
