In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran appear on location at the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur. This facility offers visitors special exhibits, traditional dances and Native artwork on display. One of the artists featured is James Blackburn, who has provided the Center with the sculpture "Owwatta (They're Hunting)" and a large historic map executed in granite and marble. 2017 Miss Oklahoma Triana Browne is now Miss Oklahoma USA 2019, traveling the country to represent her state and to promote cultural unity. Browne will compete in the nationwide Miss USA pageant later this year. Chickasaw astronaut John Herrington was inducted into the National Native American Hall of Fame this year. The first enrolled citizen of a Native American nation to fly in space, he has retired from NASA and is now focused on mentoring Native youth and encouraging them to pursue STEM careers.
