On this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran take us to the Chickasaw Nation Annual Dynamic Women’s Conference and Forum – held at the McSwain Theatre in Ada, Oklahoma. The event highlights women from a wide range of backgrounds and celebrates the powerful influence Chickasaw women have in tribal affairs. Plus get a preview of this year’s inductees into the Chickasaw Hall of Fame. Five outstanding Chickasaws will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony at the Riverwind Show Place Theatre on May 7, 2013. Also, over forty Chickasaw youth participated in the rare opportunity to play, practice, and train with certified personal trainers at the Oklahoma City Thunder training facility. The clinic is a part of Nike’s N7 event that advocates good health in Native American and Aboriginal communities. Another Chickasaw Nation event highlighting youth is a parade with over 200 children participants celebrating Week of the Young Child. Governor Anoatubby, acting as Grand Marshall, leads the parade. Finally, Ofi’ Toklo or Two Dogs is a series of videos on Chickasaw.tv that provides a fun and exciting way for kids to learn the Chickasaw language with talking animals.
