A strong advocate for the progress of Chickasaw citizens in the areas of health and science

Dr. Tina Marie Cooper, a member of the Chickasaw Nation, served as a family physician at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center for 14 years (1998-2011) and also served as chief of staff. She currently works as the medical director of the Sovereign Family Medical Center (under the Chickasaw Nation Division of Commerce).

Dr. Tina Cooper holds an associate degree in nursing from Cameron University. She went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing in 1983 and obtained her medical degree from the OU Health Sciences Center in 1995. She performed her residency training through the University of Oklahoma from 1995 to 1998, where she was a chief resident.

Dr. Cooper is a strong advocate for the progress of the citizens of the Chickasaw Nation, particularly in the areas of health and science. She was the first member of the Chickasaw Nation to be appointed to Chief of Staff at Carl Albert Indian Health Facility.

Dr. Cooper is featured in the publication Chickasaw: Unconquered And Unconquerable.
