Kayla Dewitt
Meet Our People – The Enduring Spirit of the Chickasaw NationLt. Cmdr. Dewitt is the lead physical therapist for the Chickasaw Nation Empowered Living Clinic. A certified fall prevention specialist. A therapeutic pain specialist. She's been recognized as "Junior Officer of the Year" by the American Indian/Alaska Native Commissioned Officer Advisory Committee. With her work in the tribal pediatric obesity clinic, she gives back to the tribe that has given her so much.
So, she's proudest to say she is a Chickasaw.
"The Chickasaw Nation has always supported me in my school and career. The Nation is a very supportive tribe and they have inspired me to want to give back to the people. Being descended from such a strong people and knowing the same strength and resilience has been passed down to me, not just in how I was raised, but it's in my blood and it makes me who I am."
