Classical composer Jerod Tate composed "MoonStrike" in 2019 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The piece, which features three diverse First American legends, was presented by the Apollo Chamber Players and narrated by retired NASA astronaut John Herrington. A ribbon cutting ceremony in Kingston marked the grand opening of the West Bay Casino and Resort along the shore of Lake Texoma. The three-story resort sits on 61 acres and features luxury accommodations, a 40-room hotel, meeting spaces, an outdoor pool and stunning views. Chickasaw citizens of all ages gathered at Kullihoma Grounds for the 25th Chikasha Ittafama, or Chickasaw Reunion, where families enjoyed fellowship, fun and traditional meals.
