August 1, 2018 – Chloe Black, Chickasaw Golf Champion

Chickasaw Nation News

Chloe Black has already had great achievements as a golfer during her high school years. When she was twelve years old, her father taught her to play. She initially found the sport difficult, but she kept at it and as a high school freshman was runner-up in the state championship. She kept practicing and achieved a first-place win as a sophomore. Although an injury sidelined her during her junior year, she came back and won the state championship again as a senior. Black stresses the importance of a positive mindset and the support of her family. Having now graduated high school, she plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma, where she wants to continue pursuing a career as a golf pro. She will be a business major in UCO's golf management program, and eventually she hopes to work at a golf facility and introduce youth to the game. Black's determination and skill are a proud testament to her Chickasaw heritage.
