James Woods is an Oklahoma City teenager who has been fighting a brain tumor since the age of seven. James' illness, though, hasn't stopped him from dreaming about his future; he hopes to one day be a police officer and canine handler. He recently had the opportunity to shadow a Lighthorse Police officer and his partner, a German Shepherd named Benny. The Cavett Kids Foundation, which serves children with life-threatening and chronic illnesses, connected James with the Lighthorse Police Department’s Sgt. Ellis.
