Who doesn't want a healthy and happy family? Luckily, Chickasaw families have access to youth camps and clubs to inspire and encourage young people. Cultural workshops and directories connect families to their tribe. And a full range of crisis intervention programs help families when they need it the most.
Stickball is known as one of the oldest sports in the United States; warriors once used the game to settle disputes rather than waging war. Today, through youth stickball teams, Chickasaw children are learning the same skills that their ancestors once developed. Kids also learn other aspects of their culture while they’re on the field, like promoting healthy lifestyles and teaching the Chickasaw language. Children between ages eight and 17 are eligible to play on the stickball team. For more information, visit Chickasaw.net.
