Who doesn't want a healthy and happy family? Luckily, Chickasaw families have access to youth camps and clubs to inspire and encourage young people. Cultural workshops and directories connect families to their tribe. And a full range of crisis intervention programs help families when they need it the most.
The Chickasaw Nation STEM Program ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science and technology in Chickasaw youth of all ages. STEM participants develop problem-solving, organizational and team-building skills with fun and educational activities. Children between the ages of 6 and 8 can participate in the Junior First Lego League, which introduces a hands-on approach to basic design skills with the fun of Lego building. The First Lego League is an exciting opportunity for kids from age 9 to 14 to program a robot using basic Legos and small electronics. High school students from age 14 to 18 can apply real-world math and science concepts on the First Tech Challenge Team by designing, constructing and programming robots to compete against one another. Awards and scholarships are given at the competitions for community outreach, design and other real-world accomplishments. For more information, visit Chickasaw.net.
