Who doesn't want a healthy and happy family? Luckily, Chickasaw families have access to youth camps and clubs to inspire and encourage young people. Cultural workshops and directories connect families to their tribe. And a full range of crisis intervention programs help families when they need it the most.
The Chickasaw Dance Studio welcomes all ages from babies to elders, all experience levels and genders. Corey King, Director of Performing Arts for the Chickasaw Nation, explains that the studio covers dance styles ranging from classical ballet to hip hop. In addition to the obvious fitness benefits of participation, students also experience improved communication skills and self-confidence. At the end of a semester-long class, participants will not only have learned essential information about dance but will also be able to perform a routine together. This institution is more than a dance studio; it embraces a mission to enhance the overall life of the Chickasaw Nation.
