Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Brad Clonch and Quin Tran take us first to Ardmore, Oklahoma, for the opening of a new Chickasaw Nation Child Development Center. The 26,000-square-foot facility will offer programs for kids from six weeks to four years old. And at the Chickasaw Nation Wellness Center in Ada, a new class is proving to citizens that getting fit can also be entertaining. Zumba in the Dark features disco lights, rope lights and heart-pounding music to boost participants’ adrenaline and disguise the workout with fun dancing. Ardmore’s Wellness Center features a low-impact class that’s helping elders stay fit; instead of doing yoga on a mat, the elders perform the stretches and poses while sitting in chairs. And at Tishomingo’s Wellness Center, a new indoor cycling program helps participants build strength and endurance through resistance training. The high-intensity cardio workout is an extremely effective way to burn calories. For more information about Chickasaw Nation Wellness Centers, visit Chickasaw.net.
