Chickasaw Nation News

At the Chickasaw Arts Academy, young Chickasaws get to practice their creative pursuits in subjects like theatre, photography and painting. The 250 students come from 46 cities across eight different states and spend weeks honing their passions. Chickasaw artist Brent Greenwood is the Academy's Fine Arts Director and says that instructors come from across the country to share their talents with young people. And in Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's recent production of "When You Wish," Chickasaw dancers Ace Greenwood and Brando Roberts both made their stage debuts. Next, we take a look back at the Holba' Pisachi' Native Film Festival and the Ikbi Holisso Book Creation Camp. Finally, we hear from Chickasaw citizen and Miss Oklahoma 2017 Triana Browne, who recently visited the Chickasaw Nation Child Development Center in Ada, Oklahoma.
