Chickasaw Nation News

In this episode of CNTV News, Quin Tran and special summer guest host Katie Barrick take us to downtown Oklahoma City for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony in Bricktown. Exhibit C is a new gallery showcasing Chickasaw and other American Indian art, and the gallery's gift shop features jewelry, pottery and Bedré Fine Chocolate. Next, we meet Chickasaw youth kayaker Josh Turner. Josh was introduced to kayaking two years ago through the Chickasaw Nation riversport program, and he's now training for a world competition in Hungary. He will be one of 12 individuals representing the United States and will be competing in the junior two-person 200-meter race. Chickasaw youth are excelling in all kinds of sports – thirteen-year-old Caleb Griffin Mull recently competed in the National Archery tournament in Kentucky where he ranked 83rd out of more than 2,400 archers. Taylor Wood, another Chickasaw youth athlete, recently took first place in singles at the 4A state tennis championships. Taylor will be a senior at Ada High School.
