Chickasaw students in the VEX-IQ program placed at the top of the Oklahoma State Robotics Championship, with Hattak Tali' (Metal Men) and Tashka Tali' (Metal Warrior) winning top marks and partnering to claim the Teamwork Skills Challenge. They will continue on to compete in the national tournament in Kentucky. The program offers 7th- and 8th-graders at the Chickasaw Nation STEM Academy the chance to develop their robotics skills in a competitive environment. Youth in Ada learned about the health benefits of running at this year's running clinic. This event, which started last summer, has more than tripled in participation. It serves as a good way to cross-train and helps to increase engagement in track and field programs at local schools.
