Brad Clonch and Quin Tran ring in the new year with this first CNTV News episode of 2014. Gov. Bill Anoatubby led the ribbon cutting ceremony marking the opening of the new Retreat & Conference Center in Sulphur, Okla. The Center offers the perfect location for businesses and organizations to host events and group getaways. The Chickasaw Nation’s Wellness Centers are popular places this time of year and provide people with the facilities they need to exercise right and become healthier overall. There’s something for everyone, including challenging fitness programs for senior citizens.

Members of the Chickasaw Nation’s environmental services accepted the 2013 Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Environmental Excellence Award in the Tribal Government category. They received this honor for the tribe’s community partnerships in disposing of household hazardous waste. Through the new year, the Chickasaw Cultural Center will continue its guest speaker lecture series on Chickasaw language, culture and history. Families are encouraged to attend the various events – from live entertainment, to concerts, to screenings of classic movies – taking place at the McSwain Theatre in Ada this year.
